The Buggy Barn Museum

The Comal River Riders Club always finds unique places to visit in the great state of Texas.
Today we were led by John Palermo to The Buggy Barn Museum in Blanco, TX

Today's ride started at the dealership of our club sponsor, Woods Cycle Country in New Braunfels. We took a nice scenic route to The Buggy Barn Museum in Blanco.

After leaving the museum, I grabbed a bite to eat at The Oak Creek Cafe, and continued my ride through Spring Branch, Boerne and back to San Antonio.

Salt Lick BBQ

Today I would have been leading a ride to the CAF Air show at the airport in Burnet, TX.  This airshow was postponed until mid-September, so instead, I lead a group of 20 other bikes from The Comal River Riders Club, on a great ride to The Salt Lick BBQ in Driftwood, TX.

The weather warmed up quick and the food was decent.
Got a great photo taken of our group, will post it soon.

Always fun to ride with such a great group of people. Thanks to everyone that came and to the new members that recently joined.

The Ride before the storm

With rain in the forecast for the next 5 days, today was my day to ride!

The weather was perfect!

Headed out west on FM471, North on TX-211,  & Hwy 16, towards Bandera then cut across Hwy 46 East into Boerne(remember, "Bernie" for all you non-Texans).

Stopped at The Dog & Pony Grill for dinner, then continued East on 46 and "Crusin' down US-281" @ sunset back into San Antonio.

Euro Bike Night

The first Wednesday of the month means "Euro Bike Night" at Pizza Italia.
A great turnout tonight of a variety of motorcycles and scooters. Honda Grom's were well represented too.

Good food and good conversation with fellow riders from San Antonio.

My route to Pizza Italia included a pass by the east side of San Antonio International Airport.

A little bit of Night time riding..

The Three Sisters Ride

The "Three Sisters" includes RR335, 336 and 337, in some of the most beautiful and scenic part of the Texas Hill Country.

I decided that today was the day to ride it, solo.

I rode a slightly modified version, cutting out the section of 337 between Camp Wood and Leakey. The views and scenery were still amazing!

This was probably one of my longest single-day rides yet.

More Bluebonnets, Luckenbach and Bi-Planes

Today I met up with several other riders from the Comal River Riders Club. Originally, there were 7 of us planning on riding to The Airport Diner at Fredericksburg Airport.

Tom Pilgreen was also hosting a ride of the Willow City Loop, and on to Llano, TX, in search of Texas Bluebonnets. Our two groups rode together to Blanco, where we split into our two seperate groups.

Total Miles: 205

I led our group of 7 to Fredericksburg, with a stop in Luckenbach, while Toms group continued on to the Loop.

We saw lots and lots of Bluebonnets just between New Braunfels and Blanco.
I'm sure they saw many many more on their ride to Willow City.

Lunch at the Airport Diner was fabulous and seeing all of the aircraft come and go was pretty cool too.
