It was another beautiful spring like day in South Texas.Today started with a bite to eat at Cora's 471 Grill in Castroville(home of the "Best Nachos in Texas"), and I must say, they were pretty tasty. After lunch I headed north towards Bandera. Set the GPS to navigate on "curvy roads" and set out on my afternoon adventure. As I was traveling north on County Road 265, I was stopped by a herd of cattle crossing the road. They didn't seem to care much as I zoomed on by. There must have been at least 2 dozen of them. As I continued on County Road 265, I had to stop and take a picture of the view of Medina Lake. Just over a year ago it was merely a puddle, now look at it!Then it was on to Bandera. As a I rode through a park, saw 2 black squirrels chasing each other across the street. Continued North on TX-16, through some of the curviest roads in South Texas. That's where I saw an Ostrich grazing in a pasture along the side of the road. Made a quick stop in Kerrvile, before cruising the Interstate(I-10) to get back home. Turned off in Boerne(pronounced "Bernie" for you non-Texans) and rode one of my favorite routes(Scenic Loop Road, Through Grey Forest, TX) back into San Antonio.Total Miles :160.6

This morning started out at a chilly 40 degrees. Bundled up with 3 layers, I got an early start at 7:30am. Traffic on Loop 410 was insane, but once I got out of San Antonio, onto I-35 it was smooth sailing to New Braunfels.Met up with 10 other members of the Comal River Riders Club. Shed one layer, then Kickstands Up(KSU for those non-bikers) at 9am and we headed west on FM 306.Got stuck in a construction zone just west of New Braunfels, sat at a dead stop for probably 20 minutes or more. After that it was a beautiful ride to our first stop in Spring Branch. Plenty of wildlife and scenery including deer, buffalo, vultures and even a brave squirrel crossing the path of 11 motorcyles. One more stop in CenterPoint and then on to The Camp Verde General Store & Restaurant.Great Food, Great company... overall.. another Great day!

This morning started out with just enough mist to coat the windshield and my face shield, Add some puddles on the road and the Spyder needed a bath after today.Met with 25 others from the Comal River Riders Club for a long ride out to La Grange.By the time we made our first stop, the weather turned in our favor and the rest of the day was a blast! We had lunch at The Back Porch BBQ, then some of us returned home while others stayed in La Grange for the day and visited the Monument Hill Historic Sites. Thanks to Bruce Wayne Lovely for organizing and leading a great ride.Total Miles: 268

It had been at least 4 years since I saw Lake Travis nearly full. This was an amazing sight to see and the ride there was fantastic. We rode through the amazing Texas Hill Country, through Wimberley, Driftwood and Dripping Springs.
The day started out a bit chilly, and it was a bit cold at the lake, but the views and food were great.
And to top off the day, I was able to stop by and visit my parents in nearby Lakeway, before heading home.

Boerne is located just north of San Antonio, for you non-Texans it is pronounced 'Bernie'.This was my second time leading the group on a ride. We had a total of 20 bikes with 27 people. It was an awesome sight to see all those bikes behind me on the road. Our route was very direct, TX-46 from New Braunfels right into Boerne. We did make one stop in Bulverde. It was a short ride to Boerne, but it was a great day, with great food, and great people. With that many bikes, I knew that parking could be a challenge, however thanks to the Boerne Market Days Management, we were able to get reserved parking right next to the Market Square. Everyone thought that was the best part of the day, lol.Total miles: 118
So, what to do on a vacation day? Ride!!!!I decided to take a solo ride today to check out Stonehenge II.This replica of the original Stonhenge II is located just west of Kerrville, TX.
